⌈ CHARACTER SECTION ⌉
Character: Sam Wilson
Age: 37
Canon: Marvel Cinematic Universe
Canon Point: The end of Civil War
Background: MCU wikia
Personality: Sam Wilson is, first and foremost, a genuinely nice guy, though we don’t get to see a huge amount of him throughout the films. He helps people he’s just met, he provides social services and psychological help for veterans; he’s basically a guy that could be everyone’s friend, if he wanted to be. He is caring and helpful, as is shown by his quickly jumping in to help Captain America and his willingness to stay on after all the events in DC. He is certainly a kindred spirit to Cap, and generally holds the same values as he does, standing up for what he believes is right and protecting the little guy.
Sam is definitely friendly, he reaches out to Cap after running around the National Mall with him fairly often, and becomes fast friends and allies with Natasha as well. He’s good with people, able to look past what some might see as their faults and find the good inside -- we can see this in his brief encounters with Ant-Man and the beginnings of it with Bucky, as well. He’s also welcoming and pretty easy-going, though that may be due to his shared experiences with Cap. (They’re already bonding a little by the time Cap and Natasha show up at Sam’s doorstep)
He is also a man who stands for his principles: fighting for his country, protecting the little guy and doing what’s right. He is wise enough to take a step back when he feels it’s necessary --after being unable to find a reason to keep fighting, he left the air force, and at various points throughout The Winter Soldier he offers Steve advice on doing the same. Though he can be serious when it’s called for, he’s also got an unrepentant sense of humor, usually called on when he is just tired of people’s bullshit. If it’s not Steve making snarky remarks, it’s likely Sam or Bucky will do so.
Abilities: All the training that comes with being a member of the US Air Force, along with being a paratrooper. Also if he can have his suit, he’ll have Redwing and all the fun stuff that comes with the flight suit.
Alignment: Elios. Even if he hasn’t actually been in a relationship in canon, friendship love and his appreciation for his fellow soldiers should do the job.
Other: Nothing!

Date: 2016-06-09 12:36 am (UTC)Sam is also a bit of a realist -- he takes things as they are and jumps in when and where he can to help. He's got a huge amount of respect for Cap (who wouldn't), volunteering to help him and Natasha without being asked; and continuing to stay on with Steve even after all the madness in DC is over with. He is not afraid of telling anyone the truth, though, he makes it clear that he thinks Bucky is the type of guy you can't save in The Winter Soldier; and he still hasn't warmed up to him entirely in Civil War, though they are allies in the fight against Helmut Zemo. He's not shy about showing it, either, often offering his opinion to Cap (or the other Avengers) on certain courses of action or telling villains to shut the hell up. He deals with the messy reality he's been forced back into after Afghanistan with humor and a desire to help where and when he can, without anyone telling him what to do. The world might not be perfect -- and neither is he, he's certainly aware of the fact, but he can always do his best and try and help people that are suffering; as both an Avenger and a counselor.
